Transition into Year 7
We would like to offer you a very warm welcome to Ysgol Nantgwyn. This section of the website aims to explain the transition process at Ysgol Nantgwyn and to answer some of your queries. We will be developing this section of the website over the next few weeks and will be adding information to it as and when it becomes available.
Firstly, we hope that you all continue to remain well and safe at this very strange time. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you and your child to Ysgol Nantgwyn. While we are not sure exactly when and how this will look, we want you to know we are working hard behind the scenes to consider each and every possibility for the coming weeks and months ahead, ensuring safety at each step of the way.
We understand that the transition from Year 6 into Year 7 can bring a variety of changes and challenges for all pupils and never more so than now. This year will unavoidably be different to any children that have come to us in the last few years, however we hope that your child's experiences to date would have given a positive insight into Nantgwyn and how Year 7 (Middle School) will look and feel. We recognise the strange times that we are living in and that as the weeks go on this ‘new normal’ presents challenges and it is our priority to ensure that all pupils are supported to progress to Year 7 with confidence. We are sure that Year 6 pupils and parents are thinking about the transition process into Year 7 that would normally take place for them during the summer term and we are aiming to work in a flexible and creative way to provide as much support and guidance to pupils to make the next few steps as positive and as productive as we can.
