School Meals

Meals at Ysgol Nantgwyn will be catered for by the Local Authority. Further information can be found on their website here.

School Dinner Set Meal Prices :

Nursery - Year 6 is £2.55 per day

Year 7 - Year 11 is £2.80 per day

Snack & Fruit

Pupils in the Gwyn building are encouraged to bring fruit or a healthy snack and water bottle to school with them every day. Children under 7 will also be offered milk on a daily basis.

In the Nant building, pupils have access to the school canteen at breakfast club, morning break and are encouraged to bring water to school with them every day. Water fountains are available to key points throughout the building.

Online Payments

We will be using the RCT Online Payments system to take payment for dinners (Nursery to Year 6) and to update canteen accounts (Years 7-11 and staff). The Local Authority will be sending you a letter over the Summer with you unique log-in details and further information on how you use this system.

We encourage all parents to register with this system as it will be the easiest and quickest method of payment for you. if you need any help and support with using this, please let us know and we will help you as much as possible.

Free School Meals

Families in receipt of on of the following benefits may also be entitled for Free School Meals :

Child Tax Credit – where total annual income is also less than £16,190
Income Support (with responsibility for children)
Income Based Job Seekers' Allowance (with responsibility for children)
Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Guarantee element of state Pension Credit
Pupils who receive Income Support or income-based Job Seekers' Allowance in their own right are also eligible to receive free school meals
Employment Support Allowance (Income Related) (ESA(IR)).
Universal Credit
Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ the payment someone may receive for a further four weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

Dinner Money Arrears

Nursery - Year 6 pupils

We encourage parents to ensure payments for school meals in advance either on a Monday for the forthcoming week or half-termly or termly basis.

We adopt RCT's policy for school dinner money arrears collection which can be found here.

Year 7 - Year 11 pupils

Pupils in Year 7 - 11 are not able to enter into arrears.
