All past pupils of Tonypandy Community College, Penygraig Primary School, Tonypandy Primary School and Ysgol-yr-Eos are invited to join the Ysgol Nantgwyn alumni community, together with former members of staff.
The alumni is here to develop and foster lifelong relationships between the school and its past pupils and staff in order to support the life and future of the school. We are looking to former pupils to become relatable role models for our young people. Having grown up in the same community and sat in the same classrooms, former pupils are ideal to be such role models.
A lot of young people don’t know what job they might like to do once leaving school or do not know anyone in a job they might like. This affects young people’s perception of their own ability, their expectations for future success and the extent to which they value their school work. Meeting former pupils can help change this, boosting young people’s confidence and motivation, helping to transform their life chances.
Our alumni is hugely important to us and are looking to :
- Share aspirational success stories and inspire others
- Give something back (this may link with your organisational social responsibility commitments or volunteer policy)
- Network with learners past and present
- Create business and enterprise links
- Gather the views and opinions of young people/ current learners
- Celebrate our alumni
No matter when you left the school(s), you always remain a part of our community and we would like to involve you in future events and hear your stories. We are excited to find out the different journeys that former pupils and staff have taken since leaving school.
